Black History Power Point

Due Date:
Friday, March 5th

Presentations will be next week

Directions:
  1. Pick a black historical figure, do research & take notes
  2. From your research, create an outline. Include what type of media (pictures, video, audio) you plan to include.
  3. Refine your outline & organize it by slides. Collect your media.
  4. Start building your Powerpoint presentation. Plug in info & media.
  5. Pair up and revise your presentations.
  6. Finish and present your project to the class.
Structure:

When structuring your presentation, think of how an encyclopedia article would be organized.

1. Summary - who was the person, his/her most well-known accomplishments
2. Early life - birth, family and childhood
3. Influences - what people and/or ideas inspired and influenced your subject (for Martin Luther King Jr. - Ghandi, the Black Church, populism...)
4. Accomplishments - list your subject's accomplishments in chronological order
5. Assasination or later life
6. Legacy - what influence has your subject had on future activists, our society and culture?

Requirements:

  • Must have at least 10 slides
  • At least 5 pictures
  • One piece of multimedia (video or audio)

Grading Breakdown:

You will be given multiple grades for different aspects of this assignment:

  • Your outline
  • Content of your Powerpoint
  • Asthetics of your Powerpoint (design, flow of information, bells and whistles...)
  • Your presentation - how you deliver your presentation in front of the class
